I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
