Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the team enter locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
